ONBOARD/CARD = Ust he integrated video controller unless a Graphics card is installed. A PCI Express Graphics (PEG) Card will override and disable the integrated video controller.
PROBLEM

- When installed via VGA, the nVidia GT 610 powers the monitor display in very low resolution only. When installed via DVI, there is no usable display ... horizontal line clutter.
- Apparently the operating system still sees the onboard video only and/or sees both but software defaults to the onboard video feature, dunno.
Control Center Additional Drivers
'No proprietary drivers are in use on this system' ... there are no options or recommendations for driver installation to make the nVidia card work properly.
What I've tried
- There is no jumper on the motherboard to disable the onboard video
- I've tried BOTH the Auto AND the Onboard/Card options in BIOS
- There is a SERR message feature in BIOS > Maintenance which I have disabled in BIOS

Dell Optiplex 745 Display Drivers For Windows 7

Apparently there is no hardware or BIOS configuration that will COMPLETELY disable onboard video and induce the operating system to recognize the nVidia Graphics Card.
- Is there a way to blacklist the onboard video feature of the motherboard, in effect disabling it ??
- Is there any other software file solution that would enable the operating system to see the nVidia Graphics Card and perform properly ??
- How do I install proprietery video drivers and have the operating system use them ??
